Salesforce Tips & Tricks 45: How to Populate Addresses

In this Tips and Tricks, I'm going to show you how to properly add addresses into Salesforce. Right here, you see an account billing address report that shows the billing address line 1, line 2 and line 3. However, when I look at an account record, I only see the billing street field. The way Salesforce is set up, you add all three lines in one field. For example, I would type 1, 2, 3 ABC drive. For my second street I would simply hit enter and for my third street, hit enter again, and hit save. Now, in this field, it appears on one line, but behind the scenes, if I want to do a report on just the street 2 or street 3, I can see that field is populated here.
