Salesforce Tips & Tricks 42: Keyboard Shortcuts

In this Tips and Tricks, I'm going to show you how to utilize Salesforce keyboard shortcuts to quickly perform your intended function. The first one is to search in the global search bar you can hit the forward slash and start typing. Another, is to open up the history and notes section. You can take 'H' for history and 'N' for notes. You can also click the same buttons again to minimize that utility bar. To toggle between tabs in the console you can use the arrow keys to go back and forth (as shown here) and when you get to a tab with sub tabs, you can type in GS and now you can toggle between those sub tabs. While you're on the screen, you can quickly edit by hitting 'E' and you can save by hitting control+S. If you ever need to refresh your tab, you can hit shift+R. Now that tab is refreshed. One last keyboard shortcut that I often use while I'm in the console view, is here you see you have multiple tabs open. If I ever want to minimize those tabs, I can hit shift+, holding down shift and continue to tap X. This will delete those tabs from my console. If you are ever uncertain of some keyboard shortcuts you can also use control+forward slash to see the full list of keyboard shortcuts.
