Women’s Revolution: Why Technology is More Than Bits & Bytes
January 15, 2016 – Revolution Group, Inc., a Central Ohio technology solutions provider, is giving back to the community on the heels of the holiday season by hosting the CoolTechGirls club for a job fair-type introduction to potential technology career paths.
As a leading provider in managed IT services, Salesforce customization and implementation, and ERP manufacturing solutions, Revolution Group knows their stuff when it comes to technology in the workplace. “I read in a 2014 study that men outnumber women 7:3 in the technology field! That can be very intimidating to a young woman who has an interest in technology but doesn’t know how to get started. That’s why we were so excited to partner with CoolTechGirls and show them how vital the women at Revolution Group are to us and how they got started on their career paths,” says Polly Clavijo, Chief Operating Officer of Revolution Group.
Revolution Group employs over twenty women in various departments and company roles ranging from website SEO to engineers. To learn more about Revolution Group and about the staff who will be involved in this outing, please visit Our Team page.
CoolTechGirls is a technology focused club based in Dublin, Ohio that provides school age girls the opportunity to explore the STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) fields in a supportive and collaborative environment. Purba Majumder created CoolTechGirls when her daughter was afraid to explore Computer Science and Technology programs for fear of being perceived as “nerdy” by her peers. After more research, Purba became passionate about the issue of women in science and technology. She developed a business plan to engage girls in the Science and Technology fields by providing mentoring and internship opportunities.
